Default Questions about salvaging (Fissure) Armor

I'm planning to salvage all my 6 Fissure of Woe armor parts. All 6 armor parts are equipped with runes, which I think makes the chance of getting the Globs of Ectoplasm/Obsidian Shards alot smaller.

1. Is there any difference between the chance of the salvaging a specific rune out? If so, which rune has the lowest chance of getting salvaged out?
2. If I do not salvage the runes out, what's the chance of getting Glbos of Ectoplasm/Obsidian Shards?
3. If I salvage Globs of Ectoplasm/Obsidian Shards out of one of the armor parts, how much will I get for each armor part (gloves/boots, pants, chest)?

I doubt there's any information about this, but any help would rock

Thanks,
Max.

I always thought the older the armour was the less chance of getting a rune off it. It really annoys me because I never seem to get my expensive runes back, instead getting something pathetic like 5 bolts of cloth. It cost 75 cloth + 1.5K + other stuff, and I get that back

Hmm, in that case, I will most likely get my rune, which I actually don't want. It'd suck if that is true, as I don't want to have a low chance of getting Globs of Ectoplasm/Obsidian Shards...

When I salvaged my ele's armor I got:

Rune
Rune
7 ectoplasm (chest)
4 ectoplasm (leggings)

I am sure it is random, but I was hoping for less runes and more ecto...lol

when i salvaged my old 55 armor set, i got 3 out of 5 superior runes, why dont you experiment a bit (if you have the gold) and create several armor pieces (like lets say 3 chest pieces?) and make three sets of three armor chest.

to 3 you will add 3 minor runes.
to another 3 you will add 3 major runes.
to the last 3 you will add 3 superior runes

then expert salvage them and see what happens.

(disclaimer: the next is just a theory)
i think youll have higher chances of getting the 3 superior runes, while lower chances to get the major ones, and less chances for the minor ones.

as you said you want the rare materials instead of the runes, maybe, MAYBE, just maybe, by changing the runes with minor runes will get you a higher chance to get rare materials.

now, i wont be held responsible in case this theory doesnt work as i worte

You changed my mind, thanks I'd expect a ~50% chance of getting the rune, and that I'd get about half of the Ectos I spend.. This is definitly not worth it.

Also, thanks to everyone else that replied!

The materials you get back are no where NEAR even 50% of the materials you used on the armor peice.

If you expected to salvage out enough ectos to make a few more peices for another character...wont happen.

If I hit 50% I'm happy, I have bad luck when salvaging armor.

I've found that runes come off your armor at about 50%, Rare Materials come off about 20%, and Basic Materials come off about 30%. You'll most likely get runes out of your armor. 1 of your six pieces will probably salvage into Globs/shards, and another 1 piece will probably salvage into vellum or whatever you crafted your armor with, and the rest will likely be runes and basic materials.

I have never gotten anything but a rune back... and i salvage quite often. But to salvage fow is a waste? i can guarentee you u wont get an ecto back...
Why not buy droks armour with other runes? Dont salvage ur fow man... If u can afford the armour in the first place, surely you can afford some extra runes and maybe a set of 15k.
